Gays Are Discriminated Against? Say It Ain't So!

Found today in The Huffington Post:
Indiana Considers Ban On Lesbian Pregnancies

Legislation has been introduced in the Indiana legislature that would prohibit gays, lesbians and single people in Indiana from using medical science to assist them in having a child.

The bill has the support of Senator Patricia Miller, the chair of the Health Finance Commission where the legislation is currently being considered.

Miller says that assisted pregnancy is totally unregulated. The bill would bar any doctor from assisting in a pregnancy through intrauterine insemination, donation of an egg, donation of an embryo, in vitro fertilization and transfer of an embryo, and sperm injection without making a number of "determinations" about the "suitability of the candidate.
The full text of the bill.

What's next? Jailing unwed mothers? After all, they are obviously criminally deviant and a danger to society.

My fury knows no words.

Why stop at jailing? Why not just execute them to prevent them from ever trying it again in the future. In fact, why don't we just execute them to prevent them from even THINKING ABOUT IT! (Because you know they're gonna think about it.)

With every passing day we become more the laughing stock of the civiilzed world. Shame, shame, shame....

Please, get off your soapboxes and go do something. Your own blogger SoCal Grassroots didn't think it was in the "purview" of his newsletter to include news about the Democratic group walking in the LA Aids Walk and his closest crony actually suggested that a gay rights activist should stop supporting gays..........

And who are you Mr/Ms Anonymous? You know absolutely nothing about us or our organizations if you smugly suggest that we are doing nothing.

Dear Mr./Ms. Anonymous,

I don't know who you are (obviously) and I don't know what beef you have with SoCal Grassroots. A few points:

1) SoCal Grassroots is not an actual blogger - it's a placeholder put in by our site host Blogger - if you actually read the blog you'll notice there's never been a contribution by "SoCal Grassroots", just Randy and myself;

2) due to space limitations, not everything can be put in the SCG newsletter - if there is an event that you, as a member of SCG (as I assume you to be, since you seem to get the newsletter) would like to see advertised, you'll have noticed that past newsletters specifically said to send events to me - it may not get in the newsletter (a different person handles that but we do send information back and forth) but it will show up on the calendar;

3) Dissenting opinions are fine on this blog. Letting us know that facts might be incorrect is fine on this blog (supporting documentation/links are required - there's a reason we provide links to everything we blog about - no backup=lazy arguments). Unsubstantiated rumors and/or gossip are not fine.

4) You have no idea what we do or do not do when we are not blogging, so don't presume to know us;

5) Anyone who posts anonymously is a coward. Pure and simple. Blogger provides an option where non-Blogger commentors can put their name and information. Use it. Real Democrats/Progressives have backbone. Use yours.
